Life story
Rustam was born on September 22, 1988, in the village of Güzdek, Absheron District. From a young age, his dream was to free our lands from enemy occupation. He always stood out for his bravery, courage, and kind heart. Apparently, he was one of the chosen ones… Rustam Turabov was the only son in his family. In October 2016, he went for his compulsory military service. He served in a military unit in the Shamkir region and returned from service in April 2018. In 2020, after the death of Major General Polad Həşimov in the Tovuz battles, Rustam, unable to come to terms with the loss, enlisted as a volunteer. His family was unaware of this. On September 27, 2020, the 44-day war began… On September 28, Rustam received a call-up notice from the military commissariat. He had finally achieved his dream. Rustam, who grew up with a yearning for his homeland and a love for the land, was no longer a child with small dreams. He would achieve his goals and fight for the liberation of our land. On September 29, Rustam went to the front. His combat path took him through Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Hadrut, and Khojavend. On October 18, he heroically reached the peak of martyrdom in the battles for the Ergünəş height in Khojavend. He achieved his greatest dream. He liberated the land and gave his life. His absence was a heavy blow to his family, but he also brought them news of paradise… His comrades say: “- He fought bravely until his last breath, always at the forefront, fearless, instilling fear in the enemy. When he fell, he had a strange but beautiful smile on his face… Turabov fell with a smile…” By the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Rustam Turabov was posthumously awarded the medals "For the Motherland", "For the Liberation of Fuzuli", and "For the Liberation of Khojavend". May Allah have mercy on our martyrs.
